World class chef line-up announced for Sussex Showcase 2023

World class chef line-up announced for Sussex Showcase 2023.Sussex-based charity Table Talk Foundation has announced its chef line-up for its 2023 series of high-profile chef dinners.

Sussex Showcase is a week-long collaboration between the best restaurants in the county and some of the best chefs in the UK and, for the first time at the event, Europe.

Daniel Wade, Co-Founder of Table Talk Foundation, said: “Sussex Showcase launched in 2022 to highlight the best of Sussex hospitality by inviting some of the UK’s best chefs to come and cook in our amazing county. Our first lineup of chefs had eight Michelin stars between them and included two Great British Menu finalists and one winner from MasterChef: The Professionals. It was imperative that we maintain this high level of chefs through 2023.”

All tickets include a donation to the charity, which raises vital funds to provide food education for children in Sussex and support the hospitality industry.

Daniel said: “Our 2023 Sussex showcase will be bigger and better. This year, we have two premium Sussex brands, Ridgeview Wine Estate and Harwood’s Group, joining us as joint Title Sponsors and we thank them for their support. We’re also partnering again with The Staff Canteen this year, who will be providing live content from the events on their social platforms during each event.

“Our lineup is truly world class. We are so grateful to the chefs for taking the time to support our charity and raise much needed money for our local hospitality industry. This year, our chefs have a total of 11 Michelin stars between them and our first international guest chef, Belgian Nick Brill, runs a restaurant that was recently voted the 23rd best in the world.”

The event will take place from Monday, March 6 to Sunday, March 12. The lineup includes MasterChef: The Professionals winner Steve Edwards of etch. by Steven Edwards, Anna Haugh, who is the new judge of MasterChef: The Professionals, Matt Abé of Gordon Ramsay restaurant (three Michelin stars) and Grand British Menu finalist Matt Gillan of Heritage in Haywards Heath.

“Our long-term vision is to make the Sussex Showcase a permanent fixture on the UK hotel calendar. We love what the Edinburgh Fringe has done for comedy and this is something we are using for inspiration,” said Daniel.

Sussex Showcase seeks to highlight the amazing Sussex growers by partnering with them to offer special discounts throughout the week. These will include breweries, vineyards, cheesemakers, artisan bakers, and more.

Table Talk Foundation was launched in 2021 with two main goals:
1. Providing food education to children in Sussex: The charity currently works with 25 schools and provided food education classes to over 1,000 children in 2022.
2. Support the local hospitality industry by providing free training sessions to hospitality staff to address issues like mental health in the workplace, improve culture, and build teams.
